Transfer of site to WordPress.org.

    I want to transfer this site to WordPress.org. At the request of BlueHost, can you transfer the backup files to WordPress.org?

    Hi there,

    A free WordPress.com site like you have cannot be transferred in full to another hosting provider. You can only migrate the content, i.e. posts, pages, comments and media files, using the standard WordPress export/import tools.

    Go to Tools ->Export here on WordPress.com, and create an export file of your content.

    Next, install the WordPress software on your server at Bluehost (they offer a one-click installation option for this). Once the new WordPress site is up and running, log into WP-Admin, go to Tools ->Import, install the WordPress Import plugin, and use that to import the file you exported on our end.
