Transfer of subscribers and followers

How can I transfer my subscribers and followers from wordress.com blog to new self-hosted website?

The blog is momentmatters.wordpress.com, and the new website is http://www.momentmatters.com.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please install and activate the JetPack plugin and Staff will move your email subscribers for you. Followers using the WordPress.com Reader cannot be transferred.

Thanks for your prompt response. I already installed and activated JetPack. Will my subscribers be automatically transferred or should I contact the staff?

No your don’t need to for that. I tagged the thread for Staff. You can subscribe to this thread and you will be notified when Staff respond.

Awesome. Too bad they can’t transfer followers using the WordPress.com since I have thousands. Oh well.

WordPress.org blogs are like stand alone islands. There is no Reader as there is no “community” and no shared features like there is here at WordPress.com.

oops! I should have said publish a post and ask your followers using the Reader to subscribe to the new blog.
