Transfer of WordPress.com files

  I have built a website in WordPress.com (I believe this should have been done in WordPress.org). I have an existing domain name that I already own with another provider (Vodien). I therefore need to download and transfer the files from WordPress.com to my existing domain at Vodien but they are unable to do this as I apparently need to upgrade to a ‘paid’ plan with WordPress. The only option was a yearly plan but I do not want my website platform hosted by WordPress.
  What is the solution?

  Hi there,

  You can transfer all of your site’s contents by exporting and then importing them. This option is available on free sites, so there’s no need to upgrade.
