  we bought the domain from cloudflare with automatic update every year. I am wondering if we transfer the domain to you, will we be able to take it back in the future?
  Does it have sth less if we only connect it and not transfer it?

  In both cases, It will give you a site on WordPress.com with a custom address.

  Hi there, it’s more a personal preference type of thing, really.

  Domain Connection allows you to keep the domain registered with your current domain registrar and direct it to your WordPress.com site: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/

  A transfer would allow you to manage both your site and domain from the same place: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/

  And you can transfer your domain away from us later if you want, as long as it’s after 60 days: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/transfer-domain-registration/

  So, basically, are you an “all of your eggs in one basket” type of person, or “not all of your eggs in one basket”? :)
