transfer or connect – which makes the most sense?

  Hi! I purchased a domain with GoDaddy. The purchase is valid through Feb 2027. Would it make more sense to connect my domain to WP? Or would transferring make more sense? I am looking at purchasing the basic plan for WP for now.

  Hi! It very much depends on your preferences. If you transfer a domain to us, it gets renewed for an additional year as part of the transfer.

  All our new plan purchases include the offer of a free domain registration which can also be used for transfer; so after the first year of the plan and domain have gone by, the domain would be an additional cost alongside the plan renewal. You’re not obliged to use this offer straight away though, you could choose to connect the domain until you’re ready to transfer it over.
