Transfer or map domains
-
I have two domains; .ca and .com . Can I transfer both of them? Or should I map the web site? What are my pros and cons….
Thank you for your time,

Hi there,
We do not accept these TLDs .ca, .fr, .mx and .uk domains at this point. However, you’re welcome to continue to keep your domain with your registrar and point the domain to our name servers. Or you can transfer the domain to another registrar and point it here. .com is fine.

https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/#which-tlds-extensions-can-i-transfer-to-wordpress-comTo be able to use a custom domain on WordPress.com (either mapping it or transferring over), you’ll need one of our paid plans. You can read more about our plans here:
https://wordpress.com/pricing/The biggest factors to consider would be who you want to host your domain, how much your domain host currently costs compared to the domain + plans packages we offer here, and whether or not you want to host your domain and site at the same place.
If you transfer the domain to WordPress.com, we’ll manage the domain. You’ll pay for the mapping and the plan here (domain is included within the plan price for the first year).
https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/If you map your domain to your WordPress.com site, your registrar will still be GoDaddy(example) so you’ll manage your domain from there and keep paying them for hosting. Mapping is free with any of our paid plan
