Transfer or map? Which is best?

  I just registered my domain with GoDaddy and paid for 5 years. Is it best to transfer to WordPress or map it? If I transfer it all, am I going to lose out on the 5 years I already paid for? And how much is registration through WordPress versus GoDaddy? Sorry I don’t understand all this, brand new to it.

  Hi there, it really just depends on your situation.

  Most domains cost about $18 per year. Transferring automatically adds your first year to the registration — in your case that would be a total of 6 years. All of those can be taken with you even if you don’t stay with our service.

  Mapping is free, but you do have to pay attention to renewals through multiple platforms. With five years already paid for, it might not be a problem for you.
