Transfer Ownership

    I’ve tried to transfer ownership to my client’s email account. They are set as an administrator on the site and also have a WordPress.com account, but when I click the ‘Transfer Ownership’ button, nothing happens.
    I’m getting a bit desperate — I can’t seem to solve a problem that doesn’t appear to be that complicated, but it’s really holding up our work.

    Hi there, is nomadwildtracks.com the site in question? That site is using the open source WordPress software and hosted by IONOS so the WordPress.com procedure to transfer site ownership would not be relevant.

    If it is a site hosted here on WordPress.com, then try using a different browser to the one you normally use and be sure to follow this guide: https://wordpress.com/support/transfer-a-site/

    The problem is that I have a WooCommerce installation where my client needs to set up the payment method, but they’re seeing a message saying that only I — as the owner — can do it. I want to transfer ownership to them, but when I follow the steps on WordPress.com, the “Transfer Ownership” button doesn’t do anything. I’ve tried it in several browsers with no result.
    My client has an administrator account on the site, and their WordPress.com account is confirmed.

    Again, if the site isn’t hosted here on WordPress.com, the hosting provider, following the WPcom guide to transfer site ownership won’t do anything.

    Have you tried the Jetpack guide instead? https://jetpack.com/support/transfer-your-jetpack-connection-or-plan-to-another-user/

    Thank you very much for forwarding my inquiry to support!

    Trying Jetpack was actually one of the first things I did, but I don’t have the plugin installed either. The truth is, I don’t know how to solve this issue and transfer the WooCommerce setup permissions to my clients.

    Since your site isn’t hosted on WordPress.com, we’re unable to assist directly with it.

    What you’ll want to do now is ask your question on the WordPress.org community forums at this link:

    That forum is perfect for sites like yours that use WordPress software but aren’t hosted with WordPress.com.
