Transfer ownership of an abandoned School related site

  I’m the ICT Manager for a secondary school, and we had a WordPress.com site running for the old PTA group. This site has been inactive since 2017, and the previous communications managers are no longer contactable. We, as the school, want to regain control of this public site, with the request signed off by our Senior Management. How can I go about getting the access reset to a new administrator?

  Hi there, whoever registered the school site here on WordPress.com is officially the site owner. If they can log in and transfer ownership to a new site admin account, then it might be possible to recover. https://wordpress.com/support/transfer-a-site/

  However, if they cannot log in or reset their password, and the site was on a paid upgrade plan at any point and the school paid for it, you might be able to fill out the account recovery form. https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/
