Transfer Premium upgrade from one blog to another in same account?

  I ported this site from Blogger.com recently for a school, on my WordPress account (artfarmllc.wordpress.com) as a free wp.com site.

  The school staff opened a WordPress account to receive it (phoenixandcanary.wordpress.com) and we signed them up for Premium on that new account during the signup process. I thought (I believe now, mistakenly) that the upgrade applied to the ACCOUNT, not to the blog.

  We successfully transferred the school blog to their account, but now I see the Premium upgrade only applies to the original blog we made (it’s not being used for anything, we just made it in order to create an account to receive the school blog that was already developed). I am an admin on both accounts.

  I thought we could “move” the Premium upgrade over to the stcroixmontessori blog in their account after I transferred the blog to them. Is this possible? We need Premium on the stcroixmontessori blog, but do not need it for the phoenixandcanary blog (that can stay as a free wp.com blog).

  Is there a way to get the Premium service switched over to the other blog in the phoenixandcanary account?

  We already own the stcroixmontessori.com domain and will use that.

  Please help! School starts in a week!!! We need our domain emails up and running ASAP, hence need the Premium upgrade for that.

  I received two emails from Happiness Engineers at WordPress after emailing this same request. Here are their answers, if anyone else needs help with a similar problem:

  Hello Christina –

  The Premium subscription can absolutely be shifted to a different site. You will need to be logged in as the owner of the site (not your artfarmllc account, which is an administrator). From the owner’s My Upgrades page, they have the option of transferring the upgrade to another site on their account:

  https://wordpress.com/my-upgrades

  If that fails, the owner can email us from the address on their account and we’ll be happy to move it for them. Let me know if you have any questions and have a great day!

  Hi there!

  We can move WordPress.com Premium from phoenixandcanary.wordpress.com to stcroixmontessori.wordpress.com for you.

  However we need permission from the owner of this upgrade, which was not purchased in your account.

  Could you please email us from the address on the account in question. If you put the number xxxxxxxx in the subject line it will get back to me.

  Another option is to contact us via live chat here:

  Enter a question and then under the results click on Contact support. You’ll still need to contact us from the account that owns those sites.

  Then we can move that for you, no problem.

  Regarding email, on WordPress.com we do not provide email hosting, but you can connect email hosting from another provider to your custom domain. Here are instructions for using email with your custom domain:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/add-email/

  Then you would set up email addresses with your email provider.

  If you prefer, instead you could do simple email forwarding. This will allow you to receive emails to custom email addresses but not send emails from them:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/email-forwarding
