transfer readers to an former post

Hi! How can I transfer the reader of one of my posts to a former post of mine? The way I do it, I get a notification that I commented on said former post of mine. There must be a better way. Thank you for you input.

  • Hi there,

I’m not sure what you’re asking.

Are you referring to a comment left on a particular post? If so, there’s no way to transfer comments between posts – if that reader chose to comment on a particular post, that was their choice. As the site owner you have the right to delete the comment if you believe it’s irrelevant, but you can’t move it to a different post the commenter didn’t choose to comment on.

    Hi,
Sorry, I think it is very simple but every time I try to explain I fail (I’m french and not a digital-native). When I write a post on my blog, if I wish to connect the reader to another post I wrote some time ago on the same topic, what do I have to do? For instance, if I write “I have already blogged about it”, I select the sentence and click on the linking icon. Then I am supposed to enter the url of the previous post on that topic. Where do I copy the right url? The way I do it (I copy the url which is in the top bar of my computer) it acts as a comment from one post to another! There has to be a better way, I am sure.
Thank you in advance for your patience.

  • You can copy the URL from the post itself. If you find the post on the site, most browsers will allow you to copy the link from there.

Then you just paste the link into the new post exactly as you described.

Also, did you know that we offer support in French at https://wordpress.com/fr/forums/ ? :)

Thank you. I’ll keep that in mind and see how it goes next time I need to do it.
