Hi, We need to transfer the ownership of the Site Plan for http://www.qbg.org.au to a new account (qbgweb). The current plan is linked to account qldbookguildinc. The person who set this user account up is no longer involved in our organisation and we are unable to contact them. Unfortunately when they left, they didn’t pass on the password for the account (nor any of the recovery information) and they also used a private primary email account so we can’t reset the account password to access the site plan via the qldbookguildinc account. Can you please provide some assistance so we can make sure our site plan is transferred as soon as possible. Many thanks.

The blog I need help with is qbg.org.au.

  • Hi there,

For security reasons we cannot transfer upgrades that belong to another account to your account at your request. Only the account that owns a site or upgrade can make that request.

Additionally, while qldbookguildinc owns the WordPress.com site in question, that account does not own any upgrades. The plan and domain mapping upgrade on that site belongs to the user, magic6432, so you need to be logged in as that account to request transfer of, or otherwise make any changes to the upgrades on the site.

If you don’t have access to that account either, the only way to gain access is to verify your ownership via our account recovery form. We will not give you access to the account under any other circumstances.

    Hi staff member,

Thanks for the response. Our admin user Magic6432 is very keen to transfer the plan and domain mapping upgrade on the site to the site owner (qldbookguildinc).

We now have access to both accounts. Can the transfer be done via the qldbookguildinc account? Or can it only be done via the Magic6432 account?

Please advise the menu path we need to use – is it via My Purchases? We don’t want to ‘lose’ the plan by cancelling it on the Magic6432 account and we are also concerned about adding it to the qldbookguildinc account in case we end up being charged for 2 plans for the same site – we just to transfer the plan.
    thanks.
