Transfer site to wordpress.com affect google rating?
-
I am using IX webhosting and am considering switching to wordpress.com for hosting for my photography website. I used a Photocrati wordpress template to build my site. I would like to have better readability on hand held devices and a more current look.
Should I transfer the exiting site to WordPress.com and then rebuild or make a new site at WordPress.com and then cancel the old site at IX Webhosting? Will I lose my rating on Google when I switch?

I am using IX webhosting and am considering switching to wordpress.com for hosting for my photography website. I used a Photocrati wordpress template to build my site. I would like to have better readability on hand held devices and a more current look.Here are links to some themes in photography , all the themes which are responsive would be best for hand held devices , you can look into the themes that will suit your purpose ,
These are some list of Responsive themes for photography .https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/responsive-layout/?sort=alpha&theme-search=photography
Should I transfer the exiting site to WordPress.com and then rebuild or make a new site at WordPress.com and then cancel the old site at IX Webhosting? Will I lose my rating on Google when I switch?Moving from a self hosted WordPress.org website to WordPress.com here is some useful information

WordPress.com is very good with SEO as you would be just switching your Content management system and your domain will just be mapped on WordPress.com

One more word about switching web hosts and its impact on your site ranking. Are you using a custom domain name now? Will you be mapping that domain name on your WordPressdotcom site? If so, any change in ranking on Google shouldn’t be extreme.
You may also want to note that here on WordPressdotcom, we can only use the “pretty permalink” structure. More about that here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/coming-from-self-hosted/#a-note-on-permalinks
Let us know if you have more questions about any of that.

Transfer site to wordpress.com affect google rating?
Yes and it will take time (maybe 3 months) for the content to be re-indexed by search engines and achieve a search ranking it had before. Not only will the search ranking be impacted but the traffic flow will be as well, so do not have the expectation that because wordpress.COM SEO is good that everything will be the same overnight, as that will not be the case. The best case scenario is to domain map to your existing domain URL from your wordpress.COM site.

@pavanraheja you are welcome.
The best case scenario is to domain map to your existing domain URL from your wordpress.COM site.
Which is why I mentioned that in my reply. Still the best way to keep the search engine impact to a minimum. Thanks for the additional resources too, tt. :)
