Transfer subscribers
-
Dear Happiness Engineers,
I would like to move my subscribers from http://lifeataur.wordpress.com/ to our new site http://www.aur.edu/life-at-aur/ is this possible? I have read a number of forums and WordPress Q&As on the issue and they lead to a contact request.
Would you be able to assist as we are looking to deactivate the lifeataur.wordpress.com site soon.
Thank you,
Adrian Petrilli

Provided you have installed and activated the JetPack plugin http://jetpack.me on your WordPress.org install, and you post the relevant URL(s) into a forum thread, Staff will do the transfer of both subscribers and stats for you. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/moving-your-subscribers/#wordpress-com-to-self-hosted-site Do that now please as I have tagged this thread for their attention.

I can help you with that.
However, the account you are posting from is not the owner of http://lifeataur.wordpress.com/. The WordPress.com site and the jetpack site need to be on the same WordPress.com account for migration to take place.

Hi Rootjosh,
This is Adrian from the previous post. Is this enough to confirm the ownership or will I have to reconnect the Jetpack in some way?
Thank you for your assistance.
-
That’s just what we needed, Adrian. Thank you! I’ve transferred your subscribers as well as your old stats. Cheers!

Fantastic! Thank you for your help. The University is migrating all its old wordpress pages. May we do the same thing for http://aurbusinessstudies.wordpress.com/ to http://www.aur.edu/business-administration ?
The snag is that I am unaware which account I will need to login to confirm ownership and connect appropriately to jetpack.
Also, If I permanently shut-down http://lifeataur.wordpress.com/ the stats will still be available on http://www.aur.edu/life-at-aur/ correct?
Thank you again for all your help.

jetpack is installed.
Thank you

@atpetrilli Did you enable Jetpack on http://www.aur.edu/business-administration ?
Stats can also be transferred, let us know when you want that to happen.
@nicorelnicorescu I’ve just replied to your thread.

@Kardotim Thank you for your response. I am in the process of connecting Jetpack to the correct wordpress.com profile. Importantly, I need to know if I can delete the old site permanently. Will the stats and subscriptions be affected if the old site they were linked to is permanently removed? It does not make sense for our University to keep the old sites available. There are three wordpress.com sites that we have transferred to wordpress.org. I would like to move the subscribers and stats then permanently shut down the old wordpress.coms.
With much appreciation,
Adrian

The old site can be deleted once the stats/subscribers have been transferred. Let me know when you’re ready for the move, please include the URLs of your WordPress.com and self-hosted sites so I know where to move it to.

Great! I/we appreciate having the stats from past years and the “advanced” stats from wordpress.com that includes the number of visitors is a helpful measure as well.
Here are the two that need transfers.
