Transfer to existing URL

I am combining my website & blogs into 1 wordpress site. Question: when I transfer my new wordpress site to my existing website URL what does experience tell me happens short term when the SEO’s identify a new sitemap. By combining all of information into one site I know my overall ranking will grow long term but I am worried about the short term effect on my business.

I’m not exactly clear about what you are asking. Every blog you have has a unique URL and all authority and pagerank accruing to that URL belongs to that URL and is not transferrable. If you purchase domain mapping or an off-site redirect then what your readers will experience is a seamless transfer to the content located on the new site when they click a URL to the original site. If you do not purchase one or the other then every link will be broken and your readers will experience a “404” (page not found).
