  hey, I am new to WordPress. I have back up of my web site on go daddy. How can I restore it on WordPress

  Hey @claremullin0169,

  To import your site to WordPress.com you need to export your current site in the XML file, go to Tools >> Export and download the XML file.

  To import the .xml file WordPress blog into your current site, go to My Site → Settings and select Import from the Site Tools section at the bottom.
  Click Start Import next to the WordPress importer, upload your .xml file there.

  You need a paid account with WordPress.com to import your site. Once you buy a paid plan, you are also eligible for a live chat option.

  Hi there,

  To restore that backup you’ll have to set up a new self-hosted installation of the WordPress software at a host like GoDaddy, and then follow that hosting provider’s instructions to upload that backup to their servers.

  A backup like that cannot be uploaded to a site hosted on WordPress.com.
