Transfer web domains from IONOS to WordPress

    Today I purchased 2x web domains from IONOS and I was not aware that I cannot transfer them over to my wordpress website, there seems to be restrictions. Can someone please instruct me on what I need to do to.

    I called IONOS and they looked into it, but it seems that it is issues on the WordPress side.

    I’d like to inform you that newly registered domains usually have a restriction where they cannot be transferred between registrars immediately. This is due to a 60-day lock imposed by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). This lock is a standard procedure.

    If your domains are under this lock, don’t worry, you can still use them with your WordPress.com websites. You can connect them by following the instructions here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/

    Once the 60-day lock period is over, you will have the option to transfer your domains directly to WordPress.com. We can guide you through this process when the time comes.
