Transfer Website Ownership

    Hi, I am currently the owner of a site that is not hosted by wordpress and that has plugins installed. I need to transfer ownership of this site to the owner of the domain that is connected to the site via pointing. He is also the owner of the hosting package. It should be noted that I have already transferred site content, files and databases to his host and transferred plug in licenses to him. Can you please advice how do I change wordpress site ownership to him?

    Hey there,

    This would be done with the domain registrar of the website — wherever you originally registered the domain. To quote advice directly from ICANN:

    “To transfer your domain name to another registrant, you can initiate a change of registrant by contacting your current registrar. Your registrar will then ask for your confirmation via a secure mechanism (which typically will take the form of an email to the registered name holder).”

    From the new registrar you will also be able to change the domain DNS settings to point to the new hosting package.
