Transfer website to another wordpress account

  In order to edit my website I have to login through the developer’s website and into his customers section. I have the passwords etc but I’m worried in case his website disappears and find I can’t login. How can I transfer my website from his wordpress account to mine? I can’t communicate with the developer

  Hi,

  Thanks for your quick response. The problem (I think) is I don’t have access to his wordpress acount in order to transfer it. I can Log in to my website via his account to edit it etc. but I can’t see how to have it associated with my own wordpress account.

  Ok, I see. Then you would have to ask the original site owner to transfer it to you.

  If you can access the import/export feature from the admin menu, you could copy your posts to your other account’s blog.

  And import: https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/
