Transfer WordPress.com blog to a web hosting site

I want to transfer my wordpress.com blog to another Host where i currently have my website. My questions are:
1) Can I retain the name http://www.name.wordpress.com at the new host site. if not what are my options
2) Once i transfer to the new host, can i then use affiliate advertising links freely. Are there any restrictions at all from wordpress.com?

I’m guessing that you want to transfer your site to a self hosted version of WordPress at the other hosting company.
If that’s the case you can certainly transfer all your content from WordPress.com to that new site. You’ll want to read this and follow the instructions http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/
Once you have everything setup at the new host there would be no restrictions from WordPress.com it would totally depend on the new host and your ability to make changes to the site.
To the best of my knowledge though there is no way to have your WordPress.com address point to the new hosting company.
You would have to setup a new address with the new host. Then once you have all your content moved you could setup a single page on your WordPress.com site advising people that you’ve moved and have a link to the new address.

Thanks for your detailed response.
I receive e-mail from subscriber or visitors who make a comment through my current e-mail address. Will I be able to carry these subscribers / comments along to the new host.
Is there anything i need to do to make this happen?

There are steps you need to do in advance to make sure you’re ready.Have a read of this section http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/moving-your-subscribers/
It explains things out very well.
