Hi! If you’re wanting to move over to WordPress.com then the basic answer with regards to hosting is “not really”. However, there are a couple of other things you’d want to consider:
- Are you keeping your domain name registered through GoDaddy and connecting it on WordPress.com?
- Alternatively, are you transferring the domain registration to WordPress.com?
- Do you have any email services provided by GoDaddy, and if so do you want to keep them?
- Otherwise, would you want to have email provided through WordPress.com, or with a third party?
For questions 1 and 2, we have a little information here regarding connecting a domain vs transferring it:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-connection-vs-domain-transfer/If you leave the domain registered with GoDaddy, then the domain renewal fee would be payable to GoDaddy – that’s generally separate from hosting as it is.
For questions 3 and 4, I’m not overly familiar with what email services GoDaddy offers but it’s worth checking if you have email with GoDaddy, and whether you’re keeping it. We do have information about adding email to a site on WordPress.com here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/add-email/What sort of site do you have at the moment? Feel free to let us know a bit more about it, we can possibly suggest which one of our plans would let you match your current setup.
