transfering a blog away from a newly registered domain

Hello,
I have an ‘old’ blog at worlddetour.wordpress.com, and I want to start a ‘new blog’ at worlddetour.net, which I have already registered through wordpress. I attached this new address to my old blog right away, but have chnged my mind and want to start the new worlddetour.net blog from fresh. How can I
detachmy old blog from the new domain, so keeping it under worlddetour.wordpress.com, while being able to start my new blog at worlddetour.net, thanks

Hi,
You can create a new blog from My Blogs on the WordPress.com home page.
After you’ve created your new blog, you can go to Store -> My Upgrades and move the domain to your fresh, new blog by clicking “Transfer to another site“.

just to follow up, what will happen to the old blog when I trasfer the domain? does it just automatically revert to its old wordpress.com address?

Ok I have done this, but now the old address, with the old blog, redirects to the new address with the new blog. I have moved the domain name from the old to the new blog, so that only the old wordpress.com domain is listed, and I can still access the dashboard of the old blog, but I can’t seem to view it on the web. Is there a time lag perhaps?
