  Why can’t I transfer my domain name bought through word press to another site for 60 days? If that’s the case I would have never bought it and got the full refund.

  Hi atravelerswonderland,

  The 60 day lock started on the day atravelerswonderland.com was registered and is required by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).

  While the lock cannot be waved, it is possible to use the domain for your new site before then. The name servers can be pointed to your new host instead of WordPress.com and there is some information about that process here:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/move-domain/change-name-servers/

  Once these 60 days have passed, you will be able to initiate the transfer.
