Transfering blogs without the My Blog button
-
I have a blog that I want to transfer to my new blog for management purposes. Blog 1 doesn’t have all the options in the Dashboard drop-down I need to do that. There is no “My Blog” thing for me to click into so I can accomplish this. Why is that? And if there is no reasonable answer, hopw do I transfer control of one blog to the other without the “My Blog” button?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

http://kingdom-dad.com/ is not a WordPress.com blog. You will have to see if that blog has an export function built in.
-
Yes, I have it hosted through register.com. How does that affect my ability to transfer control/how do I transfer control?
-
You need to export the contents (blogs, pictures etc) for kingdom… then import it into isakdmain.wordpress.
The domain name is separate and is covered under Domain Mapping and is just changing the nameservers to WordPress.COM and mapping your WordPress.COM blog to your outside name if you want to keep the old name.

You be lucky, kingdom… is a WordPress.ORG install (software) so follow these instructions: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/
.ORG to .COM is usually straightforward unless you have a funny file structure that you reworded with FTP (if you don’t know what I just said then probably not a problem).

Here is my problem, though. I don’t want to Move the contents of my Kingdom Dad blog into my Isaksmain blog, I just want to transfer control of one to the other. Usually there is a “transfer Blog” button, but in my Kingdom Dad dashboard I don’t have that. So how do I just transfer the kingdom dad blog?

You can’t. You can only do that when both sites are hosted at the same place. Because one is a WordPress.COM blog and one is a WordPress.ORG blog, you can’t do that.

At wordpress.COM, you can have as many blogs under one user account as you wish as long as they are all hosted here at wordpress.COM. Self-hosted wordpress blogs are not in anyway connected to wordpress.COM, nor can they be because there are fundamental differences in the way the .COM and .ORG software work and what is allowed with each.
See the sticky thread at the top of the main forum page about the differences between .COM and .ORG.
