Transfering Domain

Hi. I recently got a subscription for Dreamhost and decided to build a WordPress on there instead of using the free WordPress service. I’ve done everything that I think I need to do to get the domain transferred. I went into the Domain Administration. Unlocked the domain, canceled the privacy at domainsbyproxy.com, transferred through Dreamhost with the authorization key, went to pending transfers and accepted the transfer. I even went to the domains part of the WP admin dashboard and checked for it to use http://outofcontinuesdotcom.wordpress.com instead of http://outofcontinues.com but my problem is that http://www.outofcontinues.com still forwards to the free wordpress account. I set the blog to private now to try to see if that helps, and it didn’t. I tried clicking on the Delete Site tool in the dashboard, but it takes me to a page that says

Warning! You cannot delete a blog if the blog has a domain registration upgrade. You must have access to the blog in order to get to the domain manager.

The only time I’m able to access the new Dreamhost site is if I open an incognito window in Google Chrome. Strange thing is, I cleared cookies and even tried Private Browsing mode on Firefox (which is the same as incognito mode) and it still directs me to the old site. Am I missing something? What else am I supposed to do to get the domain to stop directing to the old site?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • http://www.outofcontinues.com/ appears to be properly directing to a site on Dreamhost.

It can take domain changes up to 72 hours (though usually much less) to propagate to your ISP. Unfortunately, we have no control over this as it all depends on how often your ISP refreshes their DNS cache.
