Transfering Domain

    Yes I’m writing because I’ve been trying to transfer my domain for over a month and a half. But I keep getting told that my domain is still locked. What actions do I need to take in order to get my domain to be transferred?

    Your domain is transfer locked because you made changes to your domain contact information on 22 May. Any change to first name, last name, email address or organisation name causes a domain to be transfer-locked for a period of 60 days, unless you specifically opt out of that lock when confirming the contact info update. This is an ICANN requirement, and all domain providers have to do this.

    The only way to remove that lock is to make a new contact information change, and then opt out of the lock in the confirmation email you should receive as part of the process.

    Wild West Domains is one of the domain providers we use at WordPress.com. If you use their own Whois lookup system you should see WordPress.com listed as the reseller in the Whois data.

    Thank you for checking

    The problem is I checked the opt out option, when I made the changes to match the info to the new host server because I wanted the switch to happen. But it’s stating I didn’t so now my company name is showing but my domain is still locked. I was told the info has to match in order for the transfer to happen. But now when I try to change it won’t bring up the information. Also my account is still showing the information is unlocked and is able to be transferred.

  • @pvtninja our logs are saying you didn’t opt out. But you can have a chance to opt out again by changing the email address (and then accepting that “transfer” on both sides).

    You could just use the same address but with a dot in it.
