transfering domain

  Hello – i used to have my website on wordpress, but hosted though dream host. now it wants to transfer my domain. why? do i need to? why am i charged an additional fee if i don’t?

  Hi there,

  You can have your domain with Dream Host and mapped to your website on WordPress.com. It’s not compulsory to transfer your domain to WordPress.com.
  Are you getting the message requiring you to transfer your domain, and with a charge if you don’t?

  @aimeesproul, you’re welcome to transfer the domain here if you’d like, as the renewals will be covered in your plan price. Or, you can map it if you prefer. That’s the same price on our end. You would continue to pay Dreamhost for the domain separately.
