Transfering Domain

  Hi, I was recently trying to transfer my domain away from wordpress.com, after having my domain unlocked and receiving an authorization code, the code did not work for the new hosting site. I have already talked to the new hosting site about this matter, they told me that this is an issue with wordpress, because wordpress gave me the authorization code. If there could be a new authorization code, or anything else that would my domain to be transferred, that would be great. Thank You

  Hi there,

  We’re reset the authorization code on your domain. Please go to the domain transfer page and click the button there to resend the code, and then submit the new code at your new hosting provider instead.

  Would you mind telling me where you’re transferring the domain? It might be relevant regarding what is going wrong here.

  Hi, I am transferring my domain to hostgator.com, and plan on using wordpress.org to build the site. I just recently tried the new authorization code, and it did not work. If there is any assistance, you may provide, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

  There is no reason the new code wouldn’t work. If it’s not working either, then the problem is either with Hostgator or with the way you’re entering it, not with the code, and generating new codes won’t solve the issue.

  Please make sure you’re entering the code exactly as it appears in the email. The code should be starting with a lowercase t and ending with an uppercase A. If you’re pasting the code, make very sure you’re not pasting in a space before or after the code – that could cause validation to fail.

  Also please contact Hostgator support again and ask if there are any specific errors in their system saying why the code is being rejected. They should also be able to see what code you submitted on their end, so give their support the code we sent you, and have them check that it actually matches the code their system is submitting to the registry.
