Transfering Domain To WordPress From Another Provider

  I recently purchased a domain from namecheap.com. I built my site with WordPress and have decided I’d like to upgrade to the ‘Personal’ plan from WordPress and set the custom domain that is included with this plan as the one I previously purchased from namecheap. Do I need to somehow ‘release’ the domain with namecheap so I can use it as my WordPress custom domain?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  WordPress.com doesn’t accept incoming domain transfers, meaning – you cannot migrate your domain name from Namecheap to WordPress.com. Instead, you can upgrade to the personal plan and map that domain to your WordPress.com site at no extra cost.

  Thanks for your help. I’d like my site to have bonamitherapy.com be the URL that displays when users are on the site. Do you know if that would be the case if I were to map it to my wordpress site or would it display as bonamitherapy.wordpress.com?

  Yes, it would be displayed as bonamitherapy.com and not the .wordpress.com sub-domain.

  You can follow the instructions over here to map the Namecheap domain to your WordPress.com account.
