transfering existing blog to a account/domain
-
Hi, I’ve created two blogs. The first made a few years ago for a small group of friends, is designated as private. The second https://waterfordrevealedblog.wordpress.com/ which I’ve just completed is to be public and hopefully seen by lots of people.
So, I would like to transfer the latest blog to a new account. I’ve tried to create ‘just’ an account and username but there doesn’t appear to be any way to do this without specifying a new domain. Or am I wrong?
Also, if I select a new paid-for domain, eg waterfordrevealed.com, will there be any difficulty in transfering the existing blog to the new account? And after transfer will the blog assume the new domain name?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
George

Hi,
Here is the way to transfer your existing blog to your new account: https://en.support.wordpress.com/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/
Registering a new domain won’t make any difficulty. You simply need to set the primary domain. Please refer to the following support page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#setting-the-primary-domain
Happy blogging!

Hi Heliodore, it took a while, because I wanted to make sure that it was done correctly and happily it’s all worked out okay; although I decided not to go for a domain.
So, thank you for your speedy response and help.
