Transfering files from wordpress.com to wordpress.org
-
Hi guys,
I am in dire need of help. I had a wordpress.com blog, and the more I read up the more i kept hearing about hosting it on wordpress.org. The flexibility/amount of customization and SEO you can do on there sounded perfect for me. I signed up to blue host, and transferred my domain from reg123 to blue host. Then i tried to get on my wordpress.com blog (www.fromlondontoanywhere.com) and obviously its wasnt working, I launched it through wordpress.org and its a brand new blog with no content. I know this is because I need to transfer the files to my new wordpress.org site but that is the extent of my knowledge. I would love to pay the £100 to get it done for me but I am between jobs and just can’t afford it.
Could anyone give me an (idiot) proof step by step guide to doing this? Im so worried about messing it up but I am desperate to get my blog back online.Thank you so much in advance, and apologies for being a dumb newbie. I am trying to navigate this world as much as I can but it’s all so confusing to me!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

WordPress.com has good SEO built in, but if you want more control or if you want to install other custom plugins or themes, then a self-hosted WordPress.org setup is the best choice.
I checked http://www.fromlondontoanywhere.com/ just now, and it actually looks like content was transferred. Did you already do an export/import of the content from the old blog to the new one?
