Transfering followers

  I wish to change my blog’s name and transfer my followers. I have set up my new blog on wordpress.com. I have done the export thing without a hitch. But before I buy the domain name (.net) I would like to know if it’s possible to transfer the followers?
  Current blog is http://www.labayonnaise.com. I created murielleb.wordpress.com and I wish to get ******.net.

  Hi,

  Sorry for the delay in response. As far as I know, there is not a way to transfer followers directly. The best course of action would be to post a new post at the old blog inviting folks to visit your new blog and to follow you there.

  Could you please clarify: do you wish to map your new .net domain to your current blog or are you looking to host your .net domain yourself using the WordPress.org platform?
