Transfering from .com to .org

    Can anyone share their experience transfering a wordpress.com blog to wordpress.org using one of the suggested hosts? Did you us the guided transfer or on your own? Would you recommend one over the other? Also, I have 4 blogs. Would I have to pay for each one to be transferred?

    You would have to pay for each.

    I did it myself, I frankly think only the feeble-minded or the idle rich need to pay $99 to do the move. It’s not difficult at all and the instructions are right in the Support documents here.

    PLEASE do not use GoDaddy. They’re horrible in more ways than I can list.

    Thank you raincoaster. Are there other hosts you’d recommend? Do you know how we will be able to upload pictures and videos? Must we use platforms like Youtube or can we directly upload pictures to our sites when we switch to a host? Can I contact you directly?
