Transfering my .com.au domain and creating a website with WordPress
-
Can I buy the $299 plan and move my .com.au domain to my wordpress account? And If I do this will i be able to create a website with WordPress that is a .com.au domain?

Hi there. WordPress.com doesn’t accept incoming domain transfers, so your actual domain will have to stay with your current registrar, but you can then map your free WordPress.com address to that domain (mapping is included in the Business bundle). http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#transferring-a-domain-to-wordpress-com
You will first need to create a free WordPress.com site and then import your content from your self-hosted site. More instructions here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-from-wordpress-org
Please make sure you understand exactly what is and isn’t possible with the business upgrade and keep in mind the restrictions on advertising and affiliate links still apply exactly as with free blogs.

Thanks, also, my web host is linked with WordPress, does that mean i still have access to the themes and templates from WordPress to use on my website? or do i have to pay extra?

If you set up a WordPress.com website you’ll be hosted by WordPress.com, so you’ll have to cancel your outside hosting for your WordPress.org site (after you’ve transferred all your content). WordPress.org themes also don’t work on WordPress.com. Many of the same themes are available, but they work differently on .com than on .org as here we don’t have direct access to the style sheets and other base files and we can’t install plugins. See here for a comparison: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
The only themes we can use on .com are the ones listed here: http://wordpress.com/themes/ However, the business plan also includes access to any of the premium themes and it includes the Custom Design upgrade, so you can add CSS to your site to change its appearance. http://store.wordpress.com/plans/business/?ref=ecom
(I’m assuming your current website is self-hosted. I can’t be sure as you don’t provide a URL, so I can’t check that.)
