Transfering site help

  I have spent a considerable amount of time trying to move my wordpress.com site to my new domain/site with little to no success. I have used the export tool, but I am unable to import it all. I don’t mind paying wordpress to do this for me but I can only see that this is possible via one of the ‘recommended’ hosts. Is it possible to contact a human to facilitate this??
