  • Hi there – To try to help answer your question (and we’d love to!) we would need to know a bit more about the site you are wanting to transfer.

We have a guide here which may help: https://wordpress.com/support/moving-from-self-hosted-wordpress-to-wordpress-com/

Some of the key questions are:

    1. Do you have a 3rd party custom WordPress theme on your site at GoDaddy? And are you wanting to keep that theme?

    2. Do you have any 3rd party WordPress plugins installed and active on your site at GoDaddy? And are you wanting to keep those as well?

    3. What kind of site are you trying to build? For example, are you wanting a website with an eCommerce / online store component?

Answers to these questions will help us recommend the best plan for your website goals. Looking forward to your reply so we can continue helping you with this move. :)

I am wanting to keep the same theme. We are currently in the progress of revamping/redoing the website & we have run out of pages that we are allowed to do.

We do not have any that I know of.

We are an area agency on aging. We help seniors and are partnered with senior centers. We are trying to make it a click heavy and page heavy. So it is easier for seniors to look and navigate the site instead of just having a wall of text.

Hopefully that helps answers your questions. I have been trying to live chat with WordPress and it is not working.

  • Hello there,

A limit of pages sounds odd… How many pages have been created?

Is there a limit on storage that’s been maxed out perhaps? If yes, what is the storage limit you’ve reached?

It sounds like you would need some custom development for that, so it sounds like the business plan will be of use here.

GoDaddy only allows 50 Pages total, they have no limit on data. I have no problem creating a website just was looking at prices for WordPress because I would have to get it approved to change from GoDaddy to wordpress.
