Transferred Domain Issues

  Hi there – earlier this week I requested to transfer my domain from wordpress.com to Dreamhost. I ran through the appropriate steps and have approved the transfer and received confirmation from WordPress of the transfer. In the email provided it stated 24-48 hours for the transfer to process.

  As of right now, the domain is still showing up in WordPress.com and redirecting to my wordpress.com website. This means that I haven’t been able to set up my WordPress(.org) setup on the domain. Is there an ability to further expedite the transfer process? Also wondering if I will receive confirmation or just need to keep checking the domain to see if the transfer has been completed.

  Hey Jason!

  Sorry the domain transfer is giving you a bit of trouble. The domain transfer should take place within the next 24 hours. However, in the meantime, it looks like you’ve pointed your name servers to Bluehost already. The Bluehost site is coming up on my side as shown here:

  

  So, you should be able to start working on your self-hosted site while the transfer goes through. You’ll just need to setup WordPress.org on your Bluehost hosting plan. Can you give that a try?

  Awesome that was the view I am looking for – I just realized I haven’t cleared my local cache either – that might be why I am still seeing it direct back to wordpress.
