Transferred from localhost to webhosting server- Site only shoes plain text and no images

Gday all,
This morning I transferred my new revised website from localhost to my Siteground server. Flicked the nameservers (godaddy domain) and shortly afterwards my site only loaded up with totally plain text, no formatting etc and no images whatsoever.
I was so sure I had followed all the steps correctly and it was going to be a smooth process, so I was clearly disappointed and freaked out when it didn’t as people wouldn’t have been able to use my site to book their tours!
So, I changed the nameservers back to the NetVirtue ones and some time later, my old site was back up and running. In the meantime I have gone over everything again, re-exported local files and database, re-imported them into siteground, updated wp-options in database, wp-config.php, ran ‘replace’function over the database to change localhost url name to proper url…
I am too scared to change nameservers again without testing it first, and after some research, found out how to adjust hosts file (I’m using windows) with IP of siteground so as to load up my site.
Same result… plain text for days… no images at all.
There is a list of hyperlinks at the top of the page that are links to my other pages, some appear to be post categories too, but none of them work when I click on them. hyperlinks in the body of the text on the actual homepage however DO work.
Please, can somebody tell me what I have done wrong and how to rectify it?
I feel like it is something small and stupid, but I have also spent almost 11hrs researching, reading and watching tutorials and I can’t for the life of me work out what I have missed…
My other problem is how to show it to you guys, given I have tweaked hosts file to see the site…?

On the off chance that anyone will see this in the very near future, I have just changed the nameservers to Siteground as it is now 10pm at night here, so my website traffic is low enough to take another chance.

Both sites are using the open-source WordPress.org software, you need to seek assistance from WordPress.org forums which can be found at:
