  How long between when the domain was unlocked and the transfer attempt was made? Also, if you could post the exact error message you’re seeing and provide us with the domain that would be great.

  Finally, I would suggest adding a plan to your account prior to mapping the domain as this will give you access to live chat support which can be used to help you transfer the domain to WordPress.com.
