Transferring a domain

    I currently have a Wix site. Looking to switch to WordPress. If I switch my domain to wordpress now before my site is ready will I lose all info on the wix site? I don’t want to be without a website while I make this change. Please advise!
    Also trying to figure out how to get Divi on wordpress. Two separate things I know.

    Hi!

    That is a question that you would need to ask Wix support, I’m afraid.

    However, you’re welcome to create your new site with us before pointing the domain here. When you sign up for a new site, we give you a free subdomain (*.wordpress.com) that you can use to start building your new site. That way your current site can stay “live” until your new one is ready.

    I do recommend getting a plan earlier on if you’ll need it, since they have other features you might find useful, including direct support:

    https://wordpress.com/plans

    Then just avoid using the domain options until you’re ready, and then you can map or transfer the domain.
