transferring a domain from wix to wordpress

    Hi,
    I am trying to transfer my domain purchased through wix.com to my wordpress blog and I can’t seem to figure it out. I have received a code from wix to allow me to transfer my domain (within 7 days of my request – only 5 days left). There is no where to enter this code on the wordpress site. I’m confused!!!
    Please help!!!

    You don’t say whether you mean to use your domain on a standalone WP site or a site hosted here on WordPressdotcom, but if the second, WordPressdotcom doesn’t currently accept incoming domain transfers.

    If you need to transfer your domain from Wix before using it on a different webhosting provider (including WordPressdotcom) you’ll need to transfer it to a different accredited registrar and then map the domain. Here’s more on domain mapping to a WordPressdotcom site: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

    In order to map a domain here, you will also need an upgrade plan https://wordpress.com/pricing/ If you choose the Personal plan, add that to your cart first before mapping your domain.

    I’ve also tagged this for Staff attention as when I click on your site name, I get this (something new?) https://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-helper/?baddns=true&host=www.lovesavourchew.com which explains about changing your nameservers and not only the A record. The nameservers are currently pointing to a wix site.

    Hi there,

    It’s not possible to transfer a domain to WordPress.com, only map it here as @justjennifer described above. You should be able to keep the domain at Wix and point it to us using A records.

    To do that you will need to add two A-records with these IPs:

    192.0.78.24

    192.0.78.25

    Wix support will be able to show you how to add those.

    Or otherwise you’ll need to transfer your domain to a different registrar like Namecheap or Tucows, and then map it to us from there.

    I also notice you have another domain in your account with us, eatrealfoodsblog.com, that expired 9 days ago. Please renew that domain as soon as possible to prevent it from being removed from your account and going into Redemption. Once it goes into redemption it becomes much harder to get it back, and it costs more.
