Transferring a domain I purchased when my site in wordpress has been deleted

    I am trying to transfer my domain I bought through WordPress to Squarespace. When I try to complete the steps provided to do so it will not let me because my site on WordPress has been deleted but when i search for it on the internet it is still accessible to the public and the domain is still in use. How do I either transfer that domain or cancel it so it can be used through squarespace?
