Transferring a Domain to WordPress.com
-
Hi! My name is Rachel Williams and I am trying to transfer my domain with Web.com to you at WordPress.com. My current domain name is patientlywaitingongod.com and I want to keep it exactly as it is. Do you accept transfers in to WordPress? All I seem to find is transfer instructions out. Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thanks for getting in touch.
While we register new domains here at WordPress.com, we’re not able to accept incoming transfers of existing domain names. Therefore, we recommend that you keep the name registered at your current registrar. You can use the domain for your site here at WordPress.com by mapping the domain, as explained here:

Thank you for the quick response!
I am new to all of this so just one more question. If I do it the way you suggested, does that mean I have to pay both my old registrar and WordPress as well? My old registrar is $12.95 per month. And I was looking to do the Premium set up with WordPress.
Thanks!!

Yes. Domain Registration and Domain Mapping are distinct services, and both would be required for your existing domain to work with your WordPress.com site.
