Transferring a site

    Hi

    I am building a site which is a replacement for one that already exists, http://www.kirkcudbrightjazzfestival.co.uk. The owner of the site has said that once I am ready, he will change the IPS tag to my provider so that I have control of the
    DNS settings and can transfer the nameservers when I’m ready. I know how to build the site but am unsure as to whether I need the details from him prior to starting to build this site. Please advise

    I’m not seeing any record of that domain or your site ever being registered or hosted here at WordPress.com.

    Could you have built a site with the open-source WordPress software from WordPress.org and hosted it elsewhere?
