transferring a site from godaddy
-
I have my site hosted by godaddy. can I transfer the site to WordPress? Is there support and or documentation on how to do that? GoDaddy seems expensive and their site building tools are limited. I am very interested in switching but want to make sure I don’t lose anything in the process.
I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

Hi there,
We’re happy to help and answer any questions you have. Firstly though can you clarify is your site built on WordPress or some other platform (GoDaddy Site builder or other tool) in this case?
You can also share the URL of the existing site and we can take a closer look, and offer the best answer based upon what we find, thanks!

So, the short version is that there is no easy way to migrate from GoDaddy’s site builder to WordPress.
You may be able to copy/paste text and save images, but you will have to rebuild your new site from scratch for the most part. This page may have some useful info:

This is one of the worst aspects of the various “site builders” as compared to WordPress. They try to lock you into their services and limit your ability to export.
