Transferring a Site from Media Temple to a Free WordPress Site

    Hey everyone –
I own a website on Media Temple and I’m interested in getting off my paid MT account and transferring it to a free WordPress account. It’s an extremely simple site (RSS aggregator) with only 2 pages (aggregation page + an about page). I’d like to just create the site on the free plan with WP ads and stuff. How would I go about doing that? I got confused when it setting up the free wordpress site and it was asking about transferring the domain. I don’t want to make that call yet and there’s no way to get around that choice. I was hoping it’d just default to wordpress.[domainname].com, but it looks like it wants me to make decisions I’m not ready to make. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can create a free site choosing a subdomain ending in .blog or .wordpress.com. The chosen address won’t be too critical if your aim is to purchase an upgraded plan later so you can map/transfer your existing domain to that WordPress.com site.
