Transferring a site I created for a client under my account and domain to theirs.

  Hello forum…I’m new to WordPress. I created a site thru my account and domain. The client approved the site and I want to transfer the site to their domain. How do I do that? Is it as simple as changing the domain in the settings?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hello @dezhardy,

  I’m not sure what you mean by transfer the site to their domain.

  If you’re keeping the site in your WordPress.com account and just need to change to using the client’s URL (such as theirbusiness.com), there is some domain mapping that needs to happen.

  If the site is meant to move away, out of your own WordPress.com account, it needs somewhere to go. So your client either needs to set up their own hosting and use WordPress.org (here is an overview of making that kind of move), or create their own WordPress.com account to transfer the site to (here is that guide).
