Transferring active domain to WordPress

  Will our website still function, display content and be accessible ‘as is’ during and after a transfer from current registrar to WordPress? I read that contents wouldn’t be transferred (media, etc.). We’ll be building a new site with WordPress, which will keep the same url, but need the current version to operate until then.

  Hi @balletcon, you can keep your domain pointed to the old site until the new site is ready to go, and just use a temporary domain here for now.

  When you go live with the new site, some people might see the old site for a few hours during the transition. If your site is very busy, it might be a good idea to put a maintenance message on the old site at that point.
