Transferring an active domain to WordPress

    Can someone help me transfer my 1&1 domain to WordPress while still having it on another server as well?

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

    Hi there,

    To clarify, do you want to use your active domain with a WordPress.com hosted site while keeping it hosted with 1&1, or do you want to transfer the domain to WordPress.com, but use it on a site hosted elsewhere?

    Connecting a domain (also referred to as domain mapping) means that you connect your domain with your WordPress.com site, but you renew the domain at your registrar (where you bought the domain), and renew your site plan here at WordPress.com.

    Domain Transfer means that your domain’s registration is moved over to WordPress.com and we then become your registrar, so all future renewals of your domain and plan for your WordPress.com site are managed and paid on your WordPress.com account.
