Transferring and Working on site before activation

    So I’m looking to transfer my site from wix to wordpress, however, I need to transfer all content and then spend time polishing up the site theme and aesthetics. The issue is that I can’t take my site offline while I do this. How do I transfer from wix to wordpress, then polish the site and prepare it for launch prior to taking my current site offline (meaning my wix site)?

    You certainly can get your site set up here before switching your domain over!

    When you sign up for a new site, we give you a free subdomain (*.wordpress.com) that you can use to start building your new site.
